It’s been almost a year living in Mwanza (Tanzania), which is wild and almost unbelievable. I thought maybe it would be a good idea to start a little blog and let other people into this adventure and all the goings-on of this place.

For those who choose to read… you won’t get my initial reactions to living in Mwanza, adjusting to cultural and infrastructure challenges, initiating the process of building community, etc. (little late for that now eh? ;)) but hopefully what you will find here will be of interest, might even spark some discussions and at the very least, will give you a window into life, love and musings from my little corner of the world.

I have been given the opportunity to live in Mwanza because of my work. I have been given the privilege and the challenge of living here,  to live and breathe and immerse myself in this place, and to be able to learn, grow in relationships and to try to find ways to serve and give what I can.

So, on to some musings…. Thanks for reading, let me know what you think as you go 🙂

  1. Shannon, Thank you so much fro these musings, I am enjoying them very much. As a Londoner, who lived in India until I was 5, and, married a Canadian so am an ex-pat now, I found you post on the meaning of home spoke to much of my life experience. I wonder if you would have the time to email me, I am researching for a film I am writing about a village near Mwanza.
